Camps Available This Summer

This summer, the Raider players will be on break from competition but the coaches of various sports will hold camps.

Volleyball: WSU head coach Susan Clements and assistant coach Kara Hellmann will host six camps during July, including four residential and two for commuters.  All held at the WSU McLin Gym, Specialized camps include an Elite Setter Camp (July 11-13), Libero Camp (July 12-13), Hitter Camp (July 12-13) and a High Potential Camp (July 13-15).  An All Skills Camp and Little Raider Camp will be held July 16-18.  For more information, call Kara Hellman at 516-1507 or click here.

Men’s Basketball: WSU head coach Billy Donlon will host his ever-popular camps June 16-19 and June 23-26 for ages seven through high school senior.  The camp will concentrate on fundamentals in order to build a strong foundation from which to grow.  For more information, call DJ Wyrick at 775-2370 or click here.

Baseball: The Wright State baseball coaches will hold camps throughout the summer with Youth Day Camps scheduled for June 23-26 and July 7-10.  Staffed by the coaches and players, the campers will learn the fundamentals of the game and how to play the “Raider Way.”  For more information, call Justin Parker at 775-4188 or click here.

Women’s Soccer: The Wright State Girls’ Soccer Academy will be back this summer with overnight camp (June 25-27) and two youth camps (July 7-10, July 14-17) held during the morning hours.  Additionally, there will be three one-day camps (June 2, July 28 and August 1).  The purpose of the Wright State Soccer Academy is to create an enjoyable playing and learning atmosphere. Emphasis will be placed on the technical aspects of the game such as dribbling, passing, receiving, striking a ball, finishing and more.  For more information, call 775-2771 or click here.

Men’s Soccer: The Wright State Boys Soccer Academy will host an overnight camp (June 12-14) as well as youth camps (July 7-10, July 14-17).  Also, one-day youth camps will be available July 2, July 28 and August 1.  In addition to the fundamentals, players will be placed in game situations that require decision making (tactics) and a competitive spirit. Technique, tactics, competition and fun are the pillars for any successful soccer player.
