The Wright State men's soccer team recorded its second straight shutout over an opponent from Indiana Tuesday night, winning 2-0 at IUPUI.
The Raiders opened the scoring at the 26-minute mark of the first half as freshman defender Jacob Stovall recorded his first career goal, flicking a restart into the lower left-hand side of the net. Freshman forward Eric Lynch was credited with the assist.
It stayed that way until WSU added an insurance goal at the 77:17 mark of the second half. Sophomore midfielder Chris Dupont tallied his second goal of the season as he connected on a drive from 25-yards out. Lynch picked up his second assist of the match, giving him four on the year overall, while senior midfielder Derek Zuniga also had an assist, his second of the season.
Freshman goalkeeper Tyler Blackmer, making just his third career start, posted his second straight shutout as he recorded three saves.
The Raiders finished with a commanding 32-11 shot advantage and led 6-1 in corner kicks.
Wright State (3-4-1) resumes Horizon League play on Saturday, October 5, with an 8:00 Eastern matchup at Milwaukee.
