Women's Soccer Defeats Bowling Green in Exhibition

The Wright State women's soccer team opens its exhibition season with a 1-0 victory over Bowling Green Tuesday night at Alumni Field.

The lone goal of the contest came at 10:34 mark of the second period (the match was played using three 30-minute periods) as senior Emilie Fillion scored a straight-away goal off a short pass from the right side by sophomore Natalie Sedlock.  Junior Ashley Miltko also was credited with an assist on the play.

Sophomore goalkeepers Halle Pyle and Kelsey Deal combined for the shutout, each recording a save.

Overall, the Raiders outshot the Falcons 15-8 and led 7-1 in corner kicks.

Wright State is at Mount Vernon Nazarene in another exhibition on Friday, August 16, at 5:30 before hosting Evansville in the final exhibition contest on Sunday, August 18, at 6:00.
