Two Wright State senior women's tennis players were recognized by the Horizon League as the league announced its postseason awards Friday evening. Kayla Tuscany was selected Second Team All-League while Amy Nini was the recipient of the Herb Foster Sportsmanship Award.
Tuscany (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) posted 10 singles wins on the season, with eight of those coming in #1 singles. She recorded wins over UIC, Valparaiso and Green Bay in league play and also defeated Robert Morris, Dayton, Northern Kentucky, Chicago State and Coastal Carolina.
In doubles play, Tuscany had 12 wins on the season, teaming with Chelsea Girgash to defeat UIC and Green Bay in #3 doubles along with Oakland, IUPUI and Xavier.
This is the second time that Tuscany has been named Second Team All-Horizon League as she also received the honor in 2011.
Nini (New Albany, OH/New Albany) recorded 11 singles wins on the year and added 12 more in doubles. Her singles and doubles victorious included a pair each over Valparaiso and Green Bay.
