Garrett Gray went five for five with five RBI as the Wright State baseball team rolled to a 12-1 win over Shawnee State Monday night at Nischwitz Stadium.
Gray started the Raider offense with a three-run home run in the third to left, his fourth of the season. After the Bears scored what turned out to be their only run in the fourth, WSU broke the game open with four in the bottom of the frame. A Michael Timm ground out with the bases loaded produced the first run and following a Gray RBI single and a Kody Krizman double that plated another run, Sam Picchiotti walked with the bases loaded to drive in the final run.
The Raiders rounded out the scoring with a five-run fifth, an inning that included a Timm two-run single and a Gray RBI double.
On the mound, six Wright State pitchers--Casey Henn, Trevor Swaney, Cody Kopilchack, Joey Hoelzel, Logan Blair and Travis Hissong--combined to allow just an unearned run and six hits while striking out 11 and walking none.
Offensively, Gray was five for five with five RBI and three runs scored while Timm had two hits, three RBI and scored twice and Krizman had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
Wright State (18-18) heads to Bowling Green Wednesday for a 3:00 contest.
