The Wright State softball team dropped a pair of games Friday at the Woo Pig Classic in Fayetteville, Arkansas, falling to Jacksonville State 4-3 and 11-3 to host Arkansas.
The Raiders took a 1-0 in the second inning of the Jacksonville State game on a RBI single by Kristi Boreing and extended the lead to 3-0 in the sixth as Jess Gorman had a hit to left and Kacie Rapshus followed with a two-run home run to left, her first of the season.
Jacksonville State, though, rallied for four runs in its half of the sixth and held on for the win despite WSU having the potential tying run at second in the seventh.
In the Arkansas game, the Razorbacks jumped out to an 8-0 lead with five runs in the second and three more in the third before Wright State answered with three in the fourth. Lindsay Barrett led off with a triple and scored on an error and triples by Taylor Knore and Kortney Tackett made it 2-0. Tackett later came in as Boreing walked and stole second.
Arkansas, though, scored two in the fifth and one more in the sixth to round out the scoring.
Gorman had two hits against the Razorbacks in collecting three on the day.
Wright State (2-10) continues tournament play Saturday, facing Northern Iowa at 11:00 Eastern followed by either Jacksonville State or Arkansas at either 4:00 or 6:30.
