Detroit hit nine three-pointers in the first half and the Wright State women's basketball team could not recover as the Raiders dropped an 86-76 decision to the Titans Wednesday night at WSU's Nutter Center.

The Raiders led 8-3 early following a Kim Demmings three, only to see the Titans answer with a 14-2 run as they hit four three-pointers during that stretch, two by Shareta Brown.  Detroit later extended the lead to 29-15 before WSU closed to within seven with seven straight points.

The Titans, though, pushed the margin back up to 13 on a Senee Shearer three before heading into halftime with a 41-29 advantage.

Detroit hit 16 of 33 shots in the opening 20 minutes, including nine of 22 three-pointers, while Wright State shot 39 percent and was four of 12 from behind the arc.

Two Demeisha Fambro threes started the second half and the Titans went up 50-29 following a Brown three-point play.  The Raiders came within nine on three occasions the rest of the way, the first being 73-64 on a Demmings three with 4:51 remaining, but could get no closer.

Detroit shot 48 percent overall and was 11 of 29 from three-point range while WSU shot 42 percent and was nine of 24 from behind the arc.  The Titans led 36-22 in points in the paint and 17-7 in second-chance points.

Demmings led the Raiders with 18 points while KC Elkins had 14, Breanna Stucke 11 and Ivory James 10 off the bench.  Tayler Stanton added eight points and eight rebounds.

Brown paced Detroit (8-7, 1-2 Horizon) with a double-double of 25 points and 16 rebounds while Rosanna Reynolds had 20 points and Fambro 15.  Yar Shayok also posted a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Wright State (7-9, 1-2 Horizon) heads to Chicago this weekend for a Saturday matinee at Loyola starting at 3:00 Eastern.
