Junior Michal Lyzwa has been named as the Horizon League Men's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced Tuesday afternoon.

Lyzwa (Johannesburg, South Africa) nearly led the Raiders to a season-opening upset at #25 Michigan State Saturday in picking up two wins.  He won in #5 singles 7-6, 4-6, 10-8 and then partnered with Lauri Makikalli at #2 doubles and won 8-6.

WSU won the doubles point and won in fifth and sixth singles, only to see the Spartans win the other four singles matches to come away with a 4-3 win.

Wright State returns to action on Saturday in its home opener against Duquesne, scheduled for 4:00 at the South Regency Tennis Center in Springboro.
