Men's Tennis Picked Third in Horizon League

The Wright State men's tennis team was picked third as the Horizon League preseason poll was released on Friday.

Head coach Sean McCafferty, who was named the league's Coach of the Year in 2012 as he led the Raiders to an 18-5 overall record and a 7-0 regular-season league mark in winning the title for the first time, has 12 returnees this season. 

Junior Hayden Joblin was a Second Team All-League honoree last season as he posted 19 singles wins and 21 wins in doubles while sophomore Lauri Makikalli also earned Second Team All-League recognition as he went 18-7 in singles play and 12-8 in doubles.

Also back for WSU are senior Jamison Clark, who posted 21 wins in both singles and doubles, junior Michal Lyzwa, who had 15 singles wins, and sophomore Ricardo Pineda, who had 13 singles wins.

Wright State opens the spring season on Saturday, January 12, with a 10 am match at Michigan State before hosting Duquesne at the South Regency Tennis Center in Springboro on Saturday, January 19, at 4:00.
