Cole Darling, a 6-6 junior forward for the Wright State men's basketball team, has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week, League officials announced today.
In the one game played by the Raiders, the junior scored 29 points to shatter his previous career high of 21 points. In fact, he had 22 points in the first half alone. Darling, a Holt, Michigan native, hit 10 of 13 field goals, including three from three-point range. He was also six of eight from the free throw line with three steals and one assist in 33 minutes.
Fellow Raider JT Yoho was recognized earlier in the season (11/12/12) as the Horizon League Newcomer of the Week.
The Raiders defeated Morehead State 66-57 and play tonight at Bowling Green at 7 pm. WSU is next at home Saturday night as they host VMI at 7 pm.
