The Wright State volleyball team fell to Green Bay Saturday at the Kress Events Center. The Phoenix won the match 25-22, 25-22, 25-19.
WSU led 16-13 in the first set after a Heidi Splinter kill and later led 20-18 as Samantha Daniel and Marisa Aiello came up with a block, but Green Bay went in front with three straight points and eventually took the set on kills from Leah Van Zeeland and Lyndsay Zabkowicz.
The Raiders never had the lead in the second set, but hung close throughout, trailing just 23-22 on another Splinter kill and a block by Splinter and Anna Norman before the Phoenix tallied the final two points.
Green Bay then jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the final set and Wright State would get no closer than two the rest of the way.
Green Bay outhit WSU .317-.163 for the match and had a 52-35 kill advantage.
Splinter recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 17 kills and 11 digs for the Raiders. Setter Ashleigh Lucco had 32 assists and libero Katie Glassmeyer 18 digs.
Wright State (2-22, 0-7 Horizon) hosts a pair of matches next weekend, taking on UIC on Friday, October 19, and Loyola on Saturday, October 20, with both starting at 7:00.
