A goal with just under 20 minutes remaining proved to be the difference as the Wright State women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Detroit Wednesday night at Alumni Field.
The Titans scored at the 70:54 mark of the second half as Nina Carter tallied the goal off a rebound with Alyssa Riley and Abby McCollum credited with the assist.
Detroit finished with a 19-13 shot advantage, 12-7 in the second half, and led 6-2 in corner kicks. Raider goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy recorded seven saves.
Wright State (6-3-5, 1-1-2 Horizon) wraps up the home portion of the regular-season schedule Sunday by hosting Valparaiso at 1:00. Before the match, WSU's five seniors--Emilie Fillion, Jennifer Gilbert, Adrianna Guerrero, Jaclyn Johnson and Lauren Patterson--will be honored.
