The Wright State volleyball team fell in three sets to DePaul at the First State Skyhawk Invitational in Martin, Tennessee, Friday evening. The Blue Demons won the match 25-18, 25-11, 25-14.
WSU trailed just 7-5 in the opening set following a Natalie Catani kill, only to see the Blue Demons respond with an 11-5 run. DePaul then jumped out to a 10-1 lead in winning the second set and gradually pulled away in the third set to claim the match.
The Blue Demons hit .326 and recorded 38 kills on the night compared to 23 kills and a .011 hitting percentage for the Raiders.
Catani led Wright State with six kills while Ashleigh Lucco had 21 assists and Katie Glassmeyer tallied 15 digs.
Wright State (0-5) concludes play in the tournament with two more matches on Saturday, taking on host Tennessee-Martin at 2:00 Eastern followed by Troy at 6:00 Dayton time.
