Women's Soccer Ties Denver

The Wright State women's soccer team tied Denver 1-1 Friday afternoon in the opening match of the Omni Hotels Colorado Classic in Boulder, Colorado.

Senior Emilie Fillion gave WSU a quick lead at the 6:49 mark of the first half as she scored her third goal in as many matches this season.  Freshman Ini Umotong recorded her first collegiate assist.

Denver (1-1-1), however, answered with a goal of its own later in the period at the 17:23 mark and it remained tied the rest of the way despite the Pioneers holding a 23-5 shot advantage.  Junior goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy tallied five saves for the Raiders.

Wright State (2-0-1) wraps play in the tournament Sunday as the Raiders take on host Colorado at 3:30 Dayton time.
