Chris Grant was named Special Assistant to the Athletic Director at Wright State in August 2009 and promoted to Assistant Athletics Director in July of 2012.

Grant oversees student-athlete Housing, student-athlete Development, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, athletic department special events and is responsible for secondary oversight of the men's golf and women's track and field programs. He also assists Director of Athletics Bob Grant with capitol campaign projects, special projects, and analytical research information.

Grant came to WSU after working at AT&T in Atlanta for two years as a Small Business Account Executive.

Prior to AT&T, Grant was involved with Southern University for two years. He served as a Special Assistant to the Executive Director for the university's museum of art. Grant assisted in developing and securing funds for the museum through grants, donations and formal fund development and also was involved in the planning, coordination and directing of special events.

While at Southern, Grant also served as a graduate assistant coach for the men's basketball program in 2004. He aided with practice and individual skill development, camps, coordinated team travel and established community outreach programs. Off the court, Grant assisted with planning and implementing departmental development and marketing events.

A 2004 graduate of Kentucky State with a bachelor's degree in public administration, Grant was a free safety for the Thorobreds football team and an Honorable Mention All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honoree. He earned a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in finance from Southern in 2006.

Grant is the son of Stillman College basketball coach, Michael Grant and Charmane Grant.  His uncle, Gary Grant, was the Big Ten Player of the Year in 1988 at the University of Michigan. Gary Grant was the 15th overall player chosen in the 1988 NBA draft and played with four NBA Teams in 14 seasons.
