The Wright State softball team dropped a pair of Horizon League games at Valparaiso on Saturday, falling 4-3 in eight innings in the opener and 9-1 in the second game.
Valpo led 2-0 in the first game before the Raiders scored a run in the sixth on an Alexis Mayle sacrifice fly. WSU then went in front 3-2 with a pair of runs in the seventh, including a RBI single by Becka Peterson that broke the tie.
The Crusaders, though, forced extra innings with a run in the bottom of the seventh and then won it in the eighth on a home run by Morgan Matalin.
Libby Pfeffer had two hits in the opener for Wright State.
In the second game, WSU opened the scoring in the first as Honnah Susor tripled to right center and came in on a Macey Gunther grounder.
From there, however, it was all Valparaiso as they tied it in the first, scored three runs in the third and fourth and added two more in the sixth.
Wright State (20-28, 14-9 Horizon) closes out the regular season with the final game of the series at Valparaiso Sunday at 1:00 Eastern.
