The Wright State women's soccer team tied #21 West Virginia in the first half, only to see the Mountaineers pull away for a 4-1 decision Sunday afternoon in Morgantown, West Virginia.
West Virginia (6-2-2) opened the scoring with a goal at the 28:23 mark of the first half, only to see WSU tie it just over a minute later as senior forward Emilie Fillion came up with a steal and chipped it over the Mountaineer goalkeeper for her fifth goal of the season.
The Mountaineers, however, answered right back with a goal just 1:52 later and made it 3-1 at the half following another goal at the 41:03 mark. West Virginia then added another goal at the 68:10 mark of the second half to round out the scoring.
Wright State (2-4-3) opens Horizon League play on Saturday, September 28, as the Raiders host Youngstown State at 2:00 at Alumni Field.
