The Wright State baseball team found the offense hard to come by against league Pitcher of the Year Jake Long as Milwaukee went on to a 6-1 decision at the Horizon League Tournament Friday in Niles, Ohio.
After starting the scoring with an unearned run in the first, the Panthers broke the game open with five in the second, four of those coming on a pair of two-run singles by Alex Erdmann and Luke Meeteer.
WSU collected three of its five hits for the contest in scoring a run in the fourth. Kieston Greene led off with a single to center and went to second an out later on a hit by Garrett Gray. One out later, Michael Timm drove in Greene with a single to right.
The Raiders managed two other hits in the game as Justin Kopale singled in the fifth and Kody Krizman did the same in the ninth. Long (8-3) struck out eight and did not walk a batter in a complete-game effort.
Wright State (23-29) will face the UIC/Youngstown State winner in an elimination game Friday at 7 pm.
