For the second straight day, the Wright State baseball team outhit #12 UCLA, but came out on the short end of the scoreboard as the Bruins won 4-2 Saturday in Los Angeles.
The Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the second as Jeff Limbaugh led off with a double to left center, moved up to third on a Kieston Greene bunt and scored as Jason DeFevers had a hit to center.
UCLA, however, answered with two runs in the second and added one in both the third and seventh to go up 4-1.
WSU tallied a run in the eighth as Mark Fowler singled in Beau Phillips, who had doubled down the left field line, and had the potential tying runs on base in the frame, but could get no closer.
DeFevers and Fowler each had two hits to pace the Raider offense, which outhit the Bruins 7-5. On the mound, Cody Kopilchack pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, striking out three.
Wright State (3-5) and UCLA (7-2) wrap up the series Sunday at 4:00 Eastern.
