Softball to play in Louisville Tournament

The Wright State softball team will play three games this weekend in the Louisville Tournament.

The Raiders will take on Louisville (3 pm) and IUPUI (5:30 pm) on Saturday followed by Ohio Sunday at 3 pm.

Raiders: Wright State, 3-12 overall, has been led by senior Libby Pfeffer with a .381 batting average with eight hits, six runs and three RBI in the early-season games.  Sophomore Macy Cook is batting .375 with 15 hits and seven RBI.  The hits leader with 16 is junior Honnah Susor.  Sophomore Ally Russell leads from the mound with an ERA of 1.07 in 19.2 innings.

Opponents: Host Louisville is 12-7 after taking four games in their Red & Black Tournament last weekend, losing to Indiana State on the final day.  IUPUI is currently 5-15 overall and will enter the tournament on a four-gamer losing streak. The Raiders lost to IUPUI on February 26 6-1.   Ohio will come into the weekend with a 12-2 mark, winning four of five at the Tennessee Invitational.

Next Up: This Louisville Tournament ends the tournament season as the Raiders will face Dayton on back-to-back days March 21 and 22 before hosting Detroit Mercy to open Horizon League play March 24-25.
