The softball program has announced the addition of Macey Gunther to the 2015 roster.

Gunther (Newton Falls, OH/Ursuline), a utility player, has played outfield and middle infield while earning three letters for the Fighting Irish.  A career .530 hitter, she hit six home runs as a junior in leading Ursuline to a district championship.

A three-year team captain, Gunther had four home runs as a sophomore, including one in three consecutive games, and another as a freshman.  She earned Second Team All-Northeast Ohio honors in both 2011 and 2012.

Off the field, Gunther has appeared on the academic honor roll all three years and is part of the Paramount Youth Group at Believers Church in Warren, Ohio.

Gunther joins pitcher/infielder Jordan Kennaw, pitcher Ashley Sharp, utility player Kelly Dillow and oufielder Honnah Susor as newcomers on the 2015 roster.

Wright State opens the 2014 campaign at the USF Tournament in Tampa, Florida, February 14-16, facing Illinois, host South Florida, Pittsburgh, Binghamton and Tennessee.  The home opener for the Raiders will be on Saturday, March 22, as WSU begins Horizon League play with a 1:00 doubleheader against league newcomer Oakland.
